In the past, students in the Gaza Strip had to join Egyptian Universities because there were no universities in the Strip then. Hence was the establishment of the Islamic University of Gaza in 1978.
Starting with only three faculties, IUG has now ten faculties offering BA. B.Sc., MA, M.Sc., Diploma and higher diploma in a variety of disciplines.
Through continuous efforts and due to the quality of its graduates IUG has gained both national and international fame.
